Carl has had a love of the SME sector from his school days. After studying Management and Entrepreneurship at university Carl set up and ran his own lettings and property management business in Newcastle. He ran the company for 3 years before selling to a competitor and joining RBS to become Business Banking Relationship Manager, managing a portfolio of 250 customers with turnover up to £2m in Tayside.
In his current role as Entrepreneur Development Manager, Carl works closely with Natwest’s strategic partner Entrepreneurial Spark, who accelerate 80 entrepreneurs in their ‘hatchery’ every 6 months. Within this role Carl is dedicated to supporting, nurturing and growing entrepreneurial talent with a grass roots approach, by sharing NatWest’s regional ecosystems of key stakeholder relationships and partnerships and signposting finance options from crowd funding to angel Investment to Series A rounds (and even some bank funding).
