The Business & IP Centre Newcastle is based at Newcastle City Library; here, our in-house IP experts, business support partners, and extensive resources will help you and your business flourish.

Helping your business grow

No matter how advanced your idea is, and no matter in which sector you operate, we have a highly-skilled network of partners who will help your business grow; and our collection of hard-copy materials and online databases can help you develop new products and services, explore new markets, or help you find premises from which to launch or grow your business.

The Business & IP Centre Newcastle is a partnership between Newcastle City Council and the British Library. It is supported by the European Regional Development Fund.

Local support & advice

The Business & IP Centre Newcastle is based on the British Library’s own Business & IP Centre. When we opened in September 2011 we were the country’s first regional Business & IP Centre. Due to our success, the British Library now works with library authorities in Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Exeter and Northampton. Collectively, these Business & IP Centres provide nationwide support and advice to communities and businesses.

The Business & IP Centre network is supported by Enterprising Libraries, with funding from the Intellectual Property Office, DCLG and the Arts Council. The network is part-financed by the Competitiveness and Employment European Regional Development Fund Programme 2007 to 2013.
